Reggae and Jazz lovers, feast your ears on these euphonious tunes from Bongani Givethanks (born Bongani Sibanyoni), a self-taught Pianist, Composer, Performer, Songwriter, Music Producer, Vocalist, and Band Leader with an experimental approach to music.
It sounds like amazing Reggae fused with some Jazz to me, but you be the judge.
From Mabopane, in biodiverse South Africa, Bongani Givethanks integrates free improvisation with sounds from House Music, African jazz and Gospel. He is the founder and administrator of The Jazz Injection, which his Facebook page describes as “A live jazz music movement aimed at instilling, nurturing & preserving the art of jazz & live music performance to the youth of Mabopane and surrounding townships.” “Bongani Givethanks uses his craft of music as a way of storytelling, a spiritual medium of expression, and also to address social issues as he seeks to make a positive impact in his community.”
