Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., aka Young Dolph was killed in a shooting Wednesday November 17th, 2021. He was killed in his hometown Memphis at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies, a place he would go to when he was in Memphis. He was 36 years old.
Young Dolph was well known in the city of Memphis and videos spread quickly on social media from the scene. The videos showed his distinguishable super car with a camouflage paint job. There are videos being shared of Young Dolph a week ago on his Instagram suggesting the same bakery he was fatally shot at. Security camera footage from the scene shows two men get out of cars and shoot Young Dolph while he was inside the bakery. He had a wife, two children, and was beloved in Memphis for his selflessness in the community.
In 2016, Young Dolph released his studio album, King of Memphis, and it peaked at 49 on the Billboard 200 chart. His highest charting album was his “Rich Slave” which was released in 2020 and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200.
