Vince Staples is a prominent American rapper from Long Beach, California. He is currently part of the hip hop trio Cutthroat Boyz, made up of fellow rappers A$hton Matthews and Joey Fatts.
Staples is more famously known for his association with Odd Future. He rose to fame through his bars for Odd Future albums. He was closely associated with two members of the group, Mike G and Earl Sweatshirt. He started gaining more fame with his collaborative mixtape, Stolen Youth, which he made with Mac Miller who also produced the mixtape.
Staples then released his debut album on June 30, 2015 titled Summertime ’06 to critical acclaim. He was also featured on XXL Magazine’s cover as part of the 2015 Freshman Class. Staples has worked with some of the hottest rappers today, like A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Schoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler the Creator, among others.
Staples released a 7 track EP earlier this year in August titled, Prima Donna, which was accompanied by a short film.
