Gemini Major was born in Malawi but his career is in Durban and the South African music scene. The first time he checked out the Durban hip hop scene in 2009, he was visiting his sister and loved the scene and wanted to be a part of it. ‘In Malawi he was never given a chance so when he went back to Durban, he entered the Producers Battle of the Year Compeition. Although he did not win, he was able to be heard and acknowledged which was better than in his hometown of Malawi.

Gemini Major is on Family Tree Records which is a South African independent record label owned by Cassper Nyovest in 2014. Cassper Nyovest is a well known name in South Africa and Gemini Major was fortunate enough to get on his label. Gemini Major has always been a fan of Cassper Nyovest and he produced a song for DJ Switch that Casssper Nyovest was featured on. They were able to meet at the shoot of the music video and Cassper Nyovest instantly clicked with Gemini Major.

Gemini Major was nominated Prodcuer of the Year at the South African 2015 Hip Hop Awards and is the producer of the hottest tracks in Africa at the moment, “Juice Back” and “Walking and Dabbing”. Gemini Major wants to be able to connect hip hop artists in Durban and Malawi and have his own record label.
