By Rachel W.
Rone Jaxx helped start Dubai’s urban music scene. Known for hip hop in the Middle East, Rone Jaxx first started djing at the young age of 14. He would play all over the UAE and was in a the group Jaxxma. The first single released was “Here I Come” which was number one on MTV Arabia Video Chart. Rone is no longer in the group Jaxxma but he has produced many artists internationally. He is involved with UDDJ and UGP which are both groups that produce and release mixtapes in Dubai.
He djs at the hottest clubs in Dubai and is a hip hop legend in the UAE. He has been nominated for Best Club DJ and Best Local DJ multiple years for Timeout Nightlife and Ahlan. Without him, hip hop would not be as big as it is in the Middle East.
Radio is also big for Rone Jaxx. In 2000 he did his first live mix on air and is now a current DJ for Radio 1. He has his own show known as Urban Education which keeps listeners up to date on the latest urban hip hop. His show started in 2005 and has been successful ever since and is still on air today, 11 years later!
