Nicki Minaj was born in December 8, 1982 in Trinidad and Tobago. She moved to Queens, New York with her family when she was only five years old. Growing up with a severe drug addict father gave her a horrible childhood memory as she recalls one time her father tried to set her house on fire in attempt to kill her mother. With all the struggles at young age helped Minaj grew up into a powerful young woman with a dream to perform on big stage. She wants to be successful in order to help her family and show them that she can live a better life than her parents ever lived in.
Nicki Minaj determines to be a successful hip-hop and rap singer. She was found by Dirty Money CEO Fendi. In 2010, she released her first single “Massive Attack”, and won Best Hip-Hop Female at the annual BET Awards.
In 2012, Nicki appeared on American Idol as a judge besides the legend diva Mariah Carey. She brought to the show her strong personality that didn’t please everyone. To some article, Nicki is one of the most hated artists in the U.S. However, people cannot deny she is talented and willing to do whatever it takes to keep her popularity.
